The Cold start valve is used in the Bosch D-Jetronic Fuel Injection Systems on Porsche 914 2.0l and VW Type 3. The CSV is simply a fifth injector that injects fuel into the system when the engine is cranking over. The CSV is controlled by the Thermo Time Switch and is essential to a fast starting in cold weather.
