There really is a difference between the genuine VW valve adjusting screws and the aftermarket parts. These screws have a very smooth tip, and are heat treated on the ends. Whenever we change the pushrod tube seals on a type 4 engine, we inspect (and usually replace) the valve adjusting screws. if they are pitted or dented on the tips, it will obvious, and they need to be replaced or the valve stem tips will wear out. 10mm style, used in aircooled VW Bus engines from 1975 onwards.
